Carter's Story

Carter James Veilleux was just 12 years old when he was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive pediatric cancer. Through multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, Carter met every challenge with remarkable bravery, humor, and determination.

Growing up, Carter was energetic, funny, and fiercely competitive. He loved sports—especially hockey—and dreamed of playing in the NHL. Even during treatment, he stayed connected to school and his teammates, always striving to live as normally as possible.

As his cancer progressed, Carter never focused on his illness. Instead, he focused on the people around him—making them laugh, feel loved, and feel at ease. He will always be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, playful spirit, and the joy he brought into every room.
